LeAnne Vincent is an award-winning, photo-based visual artist creating conceptual art images that investigate human behaviour and environments by drawing inspiration from natural and urban areas, public and private spaces, and shared memories. Originally from the Mid North Coast of New South Wales she has resided in Queensland for over 20 years and practices art in her Ipswich home studio and Queenslander cottage.
Her photography practice began with black and white film and working in the darkroom and has developed into a much broader practice including digital photography and exploring alternative processes including photograms, cyanotypes (blueprints), pinhole and Lomography.
As her practice is process driven, walking, exploring, observing, and collecting objects are vital to informing her work. She regularly hikes in her local area, and further afield, to collect remnants of flora and fauna and discarded human-made objects on the ground. She photographs these objects in still life formations and mini assemblages, and also to use in making photograms on paper or fabric.
She holds a Bachelor of Photography from Griffith University, Queensland College of Art, where she studied art theory and majored in photographic art practice. She has exhibited for the past 14 years in solo and group exhibitions and has achieved several awards. Her work has been shown in numerous exhibitions nationally and is held in public and private collections.
