MT WILSON OLD SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP ARTIST RESIDENCY

I was thrilled to have been selected for this residency in the Blue Mountains in October 2019.  Mt Wilson is a garden community that has thousands of visitors every Spring and Autumn. I was lucky that there were not many visitors during my stay which made for a very peaceful and isolated residency.

The studio was a great space to work in and I spent most of my days experimenting with cyanotypes, video and still life photography. When not in the studio I was out on the hiking trails and exploring the mountain, photographing and videoing. The work I created during that time has significantly affected my arts practice and led to a new series of work in 2020. I also held a cyanotype workshop and an open studio during my stay which was a great way to engage the community. The community of Mt Wilson and Mt Irvine was so generous during my stay and the location in the Blue Mountains is such a stunning and inspiring place.
